In his work, Danilo Correale explores the everyday life of a modern person: work, leisure, and day-to-day routine. The artist is interested in the experience of sleep and its disruption through a society traumatized by urban and capitalist influences. He draws attention to people's bodily and psychological reactions, such as fatigue, lethargy, and boredom, and interprets them as diseases provoked by the pressures of modern life.
Correale uses a variety of media to explore these reactions and reveal hidden aspects of everyday existence. His work emphasizes the need for a critical look at contemporary social structures and calls for ways to restore the balance between work and leisure. The artist emphasizes the importance of rest as an integral part of health and well-being.
As part of the Sense of Safety project, the author presents an audiovisual installation in which the viewer is invited to relax and reboot through meditation, freeing oneself from economic and social pressure. The installation creates conditions for immersion in deep relaxation, helping to feel safe and restore emotional balance, which is especially important in the context of the constant stress and anxiety that accompany modern life. Focusing on the dream of a brighter future is also valuable. In times of war, Ukrainians often live one day at a time, but the ability to believe in better prospects is the path to success.
It is important to note that the author deliberately engaged Kharkiv specialists to voice the Ukrainian version of the meditation, seeking to support the city's theatergoers who have been restricted in their performances due to Russian aggression.
