Aza Nizi Maza. The freedom of children in a frontline city September 1, 2024, from 8:30 pm
On the occasion of Antiwar Day, Antiwarcoalition.art presents a 20-minute special program entitled "Sense of Safety" at the SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELEN Karlsruhe on September 1, 2024. In a second program, Aza Nizi Maza's studio in Kharkiv will provide insights into the reality of the north-eastern Ukrainian city with a selection of children's drawings. Despite the adversities of war, the studio offers children a space in which they can develop and express themselves artistically and encourages their ability to maintain hope, develop resilience and creativity.
Both performances form a "bridge of solidarity" with the city and communities under daily attack. The international exhibition project aims to draw attention to the city of Kharkiv, which has been turned into a gray zone by constant bombardment. It reminds people of the ongoing wars in which violence and destruction are part of everyday life and shows the human cost. The projection mappings were realized by Siarhei Navitski. The works were created with the support of the Goethe-Institut Ukraine.
