'Archive of contemporary art as a tool for cultural activism'
The discussion is devoted to the aspects and current challenges of collecting, archiving and analysing contemporary art in Belarus as a key mechanism for engaging cultural memory and identity in the context of political and social transformation. The participants will focus on the role of archives as tools for decolonisation of knowledge, the dissemination of vulnerable identities and cultural cooperation. Special attention will be paid to the most active and selective practices of archival creation in Belarus and beyond, including initiatives specialising in queer culture, cultural heritage and contemporary makerhood.

Vera Zalutskaya is a curator, writer and manager associated with leading contemporary art and education platforms in Belarus and Europe.
Speakers:
Viktoria Hrabennikava - queer femme activist, heir and curator of the Archive of Queer Culture and Art from Belarus.
Iryna H - editor of the INDEX encyclopedia and the KALEKTAR platform, which tracks and archives contemporary Belarusian art.
Anna Chistoserdova - cultural manager and activist, co-founder of antiwarcoalition.art, which is engaged in establishing connections between cultural figures from Belarus and Ukraine.
Volha Archipava - art historian with extensive experience in working with public and private archives and in researching Belarusian artistic heritage.
The discussion will help to understand how archival projects contribute to the integration of Belarusians into world culture.
